Hahah. I had no idea how to tie a necktie so I did a quick google, and found this site. I actually sat down with my tie and did everything in the diagram step by step. I just dont understand how I owned a tie for this long and had no idea how to tie them. I guess I always had someone do it for me.
I always had my wife tie my tie for me until I came here lol. Nice break down of that diagram. I didn’t even really need the video. I finally know how to tie a necktie XD
When my husband and I taught school together, Wednesday’s were chapel days. It was interesting to see the number of students who always flocked to my Dh so he could teach them “how to tie a tie like you do it!” He uses the Half Windsor method.
It’s good to see that somebody out there is still teaching how to do it right!

I bought a necktie and I wanna know how to tie it.. I need step by step instructions because Im stupid. Ten points to whoever is most helpful [=
1) Start with the necktie inside out, with the wide end (“W”) on the right, extending about 12 inches below the narrow end (“N”) on the left.
2) Then cross the wide end under the narrow end.
3) Take the wide end over and under the narrow end.
4) Pull the loop down and tighten.
5) Then, take the wide end over to the right.
6) Pull the wide end up, behind the loop.
7) And finally, bring the wide end through the knot and tighten gently.

I decided to make it my goal to learn how to tie a necktie into a bowtie, which I have heard it is possible (as opposed to using a bowtie to tie into a bowtie), does anyone know how to do this? I must know!
re: 1heh.Also, have you tried the double-knot? Very grade socohl, yet surprisingly effective.(you might want to try different shoelaces the shape and material can contribute greatly to your shoes’ either staying tied or not )Also, Happy New Year’s!

I’ve seen the fashionable way some men wear a white dress shirt and then have a necktie very loosely hanging around the neck. The knot would’ve been over their chest rather than up around the neck.
What’s the best way to tie the necktie for this look?? And should I tuck in the white shirt or leave it out? By the way, this will be with jeans. I’m going for a stylish but very casual look for a party. Also, I’d be grateful for any other advice regarding this particular style.

My wife used to bust my balls when we would have to go out to dinnehhhhh she would say “Why does it take you so long to tie a F******* neck tie” now i tie that ish in 2 seconds like say somefinnnn thanks man!
